Buried in halifax with only good music to save us

Spent the last few weeks in the studio with some real talented folks!

I was lucky enough to be asked on board as producer on a new singer songwriter’s first album that I’m so excited for you all to hear, so stay tuned for that! I’ll tell you during that process, I got to work with two of my favourite NB musicians Marc-Andre Belliveau and Mico Roy and also got to record a 12lb sledge hammer hitting a piece of railroad track…. I’m so excited to mix this album, so you all can experience the lovely music of this new fresh face to the scene. I’ll keep you guys updated.

Also my good friend and long time guitar player Marc Doucet asked me into the studio to work on some instrumental tunes of his. That was a great experience! Being able to produce a live band as they played is quite a change from the albums I have been workin’ on lately so it was a great change of pace, we all had a great time and Me and Marc are gonna head in again soon to keep that project moving.

Also, soooo happy to say I am working with Jim Henman again on a new project of his, demos at this point,  but even in his older age he shows no limits to his creativity and exploration musically. So yes I am glad to be back in the studio with Henman.

I also have some shows coming up I am pretty pumped about.

Owen steel is back on the beat after an expedition across the universe that I myself have only heard faint echos of, so I am excited to start the road off with him to hear more and play washboard as part of the sad turns Feb 20th, 21st and 22nd!

After that heading back up the frozen world of northern NB with Keith Hallett. We are playing in Bathurst Feb 28th and Campbellton Feb 27th as a duo. Stories, laughs and of course tunes. I cherish my trips to a land that loves and supports music in the way Northern Nb’s do, as well as my time with Keith Hallett is always a trip.

Also coming up, I am heading out on the road with my own crew of characters, creatures and cuddlers -The Precious Memories. Early april we will be heading out to do a string of shows. Can’t wait! It looks as though the original bunch plus the newest member will all be there for these gigs, so needless to say we are all excited. Thanks to whoever is reading, looking forward to seeing you around!

Last year was a year of studio work for me! Recorded Jamboree III: Lust Dies last February, Mike Trask and The Precious Memories: Sadie took 6 months to finish, in and out of The Echo Chamber spring to fall. Then came the opportunity to work on John Richards Blue Valley The studio has always been my favourite place to be and this year is already shaping up to be another year filled with studio work and some great shows!
